The Advanced Decking Protection Environment has been specifically designed to protect all species of wood that are commonly used outdoors. It is designed for pressure treated woods, exotic/tropical wood types such as ipe and teak, European hardwood's such as oak and chestnut, and softwoods including red cedar and larch.
The protection offers major protection of outdoor decking and furniture. It can be applied immediately on new tropical woods after fitting, without the need for any chemical surface preparation.
Easy to apply, it naturally penetrates the wood with no flaking or peeling.
Currently we have the Blanchon Advanced Decking Protection Environment available in the Old Grey, Natural or Oak finishes.
Exotic/Tropical Wood: 10 - 12m2/litre/coat
Softwood: 8 - 10m2/litre/coat
Maintenance coat (all species): 12 - 15m2/l.
The wood surface must be sound, clean and dry, without any traces of resin, grease or previously applied products.
Any dust should also be carefully removed before application.
The wood should have been left in a minimum of three warm days before the application, with no rain forecast within 24 hours of completion of application.
Begin by shaking well before use, no dilution is required.
Apply the first coat in the direction of the grain using a graining brush (wide brush) or a roller. Special care should be taken with grooves, joints and visible end grain. The decking protection should then be allowed to penetrate for 20 to 30 minutes. The slightly "milky" appearance of the liquid lacquer will disappear within a few minutes as it dries.
As soon as the wood has lost its wet appearance, before the product has fully dried, apply the second coat in the same way. Smooth the surface with a dry graining brush after a few minutes to get an even finish.
Due to weathering and UV radiation, the colour of the finish will naturally lighten with time. When this occurs remove all dust and clean with the Blanchon Cleaner for Terraces. Rinse well and allow to dry. Reapply the Advanced Decking Protection Environment where the fading is noticeable. Do not apply where the colour remains unchanged.
