The Osmo TopOil is a wood finish which is designed for wooden kitchen work tops as well as general interior joinery such as table tops and furniture.

The oil is available in a clear matt, natural, satin or acacia finish and is resistant to common household stains.

Easy to apply, it is the ideal treatment, even in rooms with high humidity.

With a creamy consistence, the matt sheen can be intensified by slight polishing. The grain and texture of the wood will also be accentuated.

Technical Data Sheet

Coverage

Two Coats: 1 Litre will cover approximately 12m2

Renovation: 1 Litre will cover approximately 20m2

Specifications

Extremely tough and hard wearing, the oil is both water-repellant and dirt resistant.

The finish is also designed to be resistant against wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water etc.

Osmo TopOil is based on natural vegetable oils and waxes which penetrate deeply into the wood, keeping it elastic and healthy and also preventing it from getting dry and brittle.

The wood is allowed to breath, moisture can evaporate and both shrinking and swelling are reduced.

Ingredients

50-60% solids (High Solid)

Base: natural vegetables oils and waxes (sunflower oil, soy-bean oil, thistle oil, carnauba and candellila wax), paraffines

Additives: siccatives (drying agents) and water-repellent additives

Solvents: disaromatized white spirit (benzenefree - in compliance with purity demands of the European Pharmacopoeia)

Application

Ensure that the surface is clean and dry.

Clean or lightly sand old-microporous finishes and remove old varnishes.

The Osmo TopOil is supplied ready to use, so there is no need to thin just shake well before use.

Apply with a stiff, tight quality brush with tight fine bristles or a dry cloth.

Apply the first coat thinly, throughly and evenly along the wood grain removing any surplus.

Leave to dry over night (at least 8-10 hours) ensuring good ventilation.

The second coat should be applied the same way as before, removing any surplus and leaving to dry for at least 8-10 hours.

If using a cloth, 3-4 thin coats should be applied.

For the inside of cupboards and drawers, only 1 thin coat should be applied with a cloth and left to dry with good ventilation.

If you are after a more satin finish, Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner can be applied thinly and polished after.

Maintenance

Surfaces that have been treated with Osmo TopOil can be cleaned with water (containing Osmo Wash And Care).

For more persistent stains, use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner, which will also revive the appearance of the surface.

When the surface becomes dull, apply a thin coat of Osmo Top Oil.
