Select grade engineered oak flooring has less and smaller knots and shakes than character grade, but is not as blemish free as prime grade.
Select grade looks great in modern homes where it can provide the perfect backdrop to contemporary furniture and yet the small knots offer some welcome character.
Of course, being engineered oak flooring, you can fit over underfloor heating or in spaces with higher humidity.
Supplied unfinished, you can stain or dye the boards before waxing or oiling or alternatively leave them natural.
With the choice of grade of oak flooring being such a personal one, we really do recommend you to visit us and see the various grades laid out - we can then pick out exactly the flooring you'd like delivered.

Introduction To keep your new oak flooring in top condition, you need to finish it with some form of protective coating. We think the best products for doing this are natural hard wax oils. One of the most popular of these is Osmo Polyx-Oil . Purchasing oak flooring online can be difficult. With so many different suppliers on the market and so many different types of oak flooring available it can be difficult to know exactly what oak flooring to choose. No matter how many images you see online, nothing quite beats being able to see the boards in person. This is why our showroom is so popular - you can see, touch and walk on each and every grade of timber. For those who live further afield this however is not always an option. This is why many online retailers choose to offer samples, with many broadcasting there “free samples”. This allows you to see the grade in your own home to help influence your decision right? Sadly not. These so called “free samples” are often small minuscule offcuts which cannot possibly give a true representation of the quality or the grading of the board.
