Coverage

1 litre covers approx. 24m2 with one coat. Coverage depends significantly on the condition of the wood.

Application

For wood species with a high content of natural wood extractives need to weather off (min. 4 weeks) before the initial treatment or be cleaned with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner (degreaser)

Resinous wood, such as Larch or Douglas Fir, needs to weather off for at least 6 weeks. Pressure impregnated wood, Massaranduba, Bangkirai or Grape need to weather off for at least 3 months. Degrey any already greyed wood with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel before applying Osmo Decking-OIls.

The wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%) The oil is ready to use. Do not thin and stir well before use.

Thoroughly clean or light sand old microporous stains or completely remove old varnishes prior to application.

The finishes surface is influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. A trial application is always required. If additional protection against blue stain, rot and insect attached is desired, pre-treat the wood, if possible on all sides, with Osmo WR impregnation.

Use a stiff brush or a lint free cloth (e.g for furniture) and apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood surface along the wood grain.

Apply thinly and evenly - allowing for good ventilation while drying. Drying time is approx. 12 hours. Apply the second coat - also thinly. If a less intensive colour is desired, the second cot should be carried out with Anti-Slip Decking Oil (does not apply for clear Teak-Oil 007).

The Osmo-Teak Oil is a clear finish and therefore offers only little protection against UV radiation (greying). As a clear top coat for screens, Osmo UV-Protection OIl and for decking the clear Anti-Slip Decking Oil is recommended.
