Description

The Osmo UV Protection Oil Tints is a transparent, lightly pigmented and satin, natural oil based wood finish designed for exterior use. The tints is ideal for use on all vertical wood surfaces in outdoor areas: doors, windows, timber cladding, fencing etc.

The water-repellent surface will not crack, peel, flake or blister whilst the microporous surface allows the wood to breathe - reducing swelling and shrinkage.

Applying the Osmo UV Protection Oil Tints as a top coat on already colour treated wood prolongs the renovation intervals significantly.

As a single product application, the oil blocks the greying process on vertical surfaces with a UV protection factor 12 in comparison to untreated wood when two coats are applied.

The UV Protection Oil Tints is furnished with active ingredients to protect the coating against mould, algae and fungal attack. The oil can be recoated without sanding with easy and seamless application. The finish stays workable while coating.

Coverage

1 litre covers approximately 18m2 with one coat. The coverage depends significantly on the condition of the wood.

Application

The wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free.

Supplied ready to use, the oil should be stirred well before use.

Using a flat brush or microfibre roller, apply the oil thinly along the wood grain and spread well.

With good ventilation, allow to dry for approx. 12 hours.

The second coat can then be applied. Alternatively the second coat can also be carried out with UV Protection Oil Extra Clear.

For the recoating of coloured treated surfaces, or for renovation works, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.

Maintenance

Dependent on the degree of weathering, one coat of Osmo UV Protection Oil Tints should be applied to the clean and intact finish after approx. 3-4 years.

Areas that are exposed to strong weathering should expect significantly shorter renovation intervals.

If the greying process has already begun, the surface should be de-greyed using the Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel and refinished with 2 coats of Osmo UV Protection Oil Tints.
