The Jubilee Woods Project

12th Oct 2011 @ 11:03

As you may already know 2012 is Queen Elizabeth II’s historic Diamond Jubilee. As part of this occasion, there are a number of different events which you can get involved in to celebrate. One of the projects that we have come across is the Jubilee Woods project which is organised by the Woodland Trust charity.

As part of the Jubilee Woods project, they are looking for millions of people across the UK to come together to plant 6 million trees. This will create hundreds of Jubilee Woods and 60 exclusive Diamond Woods. They are looking for landowners of all types to plant a Jubilee Woood on their own land to help celebrate the occasion whilst also providing a valuable personal or community resource for the future. All of the Jubilee Woods will be listed in a special commemorative report to the Queen and Government, and they will also recieve a special certificate of recognition.
