The SilentWool Joist Strips are designed as a natural and effective way to reduce structure borne sound transmission caused by contact between joists and floors/subfloors. The impact of footsteps is absorbed by the 3mm thick wool. These strips are rolled out onto existing timber or joists prior to the fitting of the flooring. SilentWool Joist Strips will reduce the effective noise heard in the rooms below.
Each roll is supplied in 10 metre lengths, 10cm wide and 3mm thickness.
Installation
Unroll the wool along the joist, folding on each side.
Staple the folded side into the side of the joist. This will ensure hold when fitting the floor.
