Blanchon Intensiv is a two component, water-based 100% polyurethane wood floor lacquer. Intensive is odourless and formulated with resins selected for their high resistance to abrasion, stains, wear and their remarkable flexibility.
With excellent performance and fast hardening, the Intensive is ideal for all floor sealing jobs. It is particularly suited for high-traffic areas such as shops, offices, hotels, schools and corridors.
Available in a number of different finishes, its clear shade will protect and enhance the woods natural grain.
10m2 per litre per coat
The old or new flooring should be sanded to obtain a smooth, even surface. The wood should first be sanded to bare wood with 24 or 36 grit, further sanded with 50 or 60 grit and then finished with 80, 100 or 120 grit. All traces of dust and grease should be removed - with the floor perfectly clean and dry.
Begin by stirring components A and B well before use. The Intensiv Lacquer (component A) and Intensiv Hardener (component B) should be mixed together immediately before use - 1 part Hardener to 9 parts Intensiv Lacquer (by volume).
Stir the mixture well to obtain a thoroughly uniform mixture. This should be used within 2 hours.
When sealing the wood floor, the temperature should not be below 12°C at ground level or relative humidity above 85%. Do not apply on wood with moisture content above 10% - using in well-ventilated areas, removing plants and aquariums.
Apply the Intensiv with a short-haired roller directly on hard wood in thick, even coats or using a spatula for multiple coats, or 2 coats over 1 coat of the primer of your choice. The initial slightly milky appearance of the liquid will disappear during the drying process.
Once the first coat has dried, a light sanding with a buffing machine (fine sanding disc) is recommended followed by careful vacuum cleaning.
Due to the exceptionally fast hardening of the lacquer, sanding is essential if more than 24 hours has elapsed between coats.
Dust free drying should be around 45 minutes, whilst drying before sanding/recoating should take around 4 - 6 hours under normal conditions. Do not wait more than 24 hours between coats.
The Intensive is designed to ease the maintenance of all types of parquet, wood flooring and stairs.
Dust should be removed regularly, using a vacuum cleaner or dustpan and broom.
Mop the surface occasionally using a damp mop - never a soaking wet one. Stains can be removed with Blanchon Lagoon or a neutral detergent (follow manufacturers recommendations for concentrations).
