Bamford engineered oak flooring features textured surface planks - with each individual board heavily brushed. This ageing process creates an additional depth that is present upon both look and touch.
Supplied unfinished, the Bamford oak boards respond well when coated with darker finishes - such as the Black colour. Equally, this does not mean the boards can't be combined with lighter effects - such as the Weathered Wood Hard Waxoil seen in the inspiration section below.
The aged nature of the brushing process is combined with a grading to the character standard. This results in the boards including a range of knots, shakes and the odd crack (as seen in traditional oak floors).

Your choice of colour for Oak flooring comes in all manners of styles, be it the darkest of tones or the lightest of whites. To achieve a rainbow of colours, one of our more popular products of choice is the Blanchon Hard Waxoil - Colours. Currently the Blachon Hard Waxoil - Colours is available in a number of shades: Light Oak, Golden Oak, Smoked Oak, Walnut, Black, Graphite, Metallic Grey, Light Grey, White Grey, White, Rough Timber, Old White and Weathered Wood. In this guide we show you the process of applying the Blanchon Hard Waxoil - Colours. For this example; the Golden Oak colour has been applied to our unfinished European oak flooring.
Introduction To keep your new oak flooring in top condition, you need to finish it with some form of protective coating. We think the best products for doing this are natural hard wax oils. Purchasing oak flooring online can be difficult. This is why many online retailers choose to offer samples, with many broadcasting there “free samples”. This allows you to see the grade in your own home to help influence your decision right? Sadly not. These so called “free samples” are often small minuscule offcuts which cannot possibly give a true representation of the quality or the grading of the board.
