The Blanchon White Patina is a decorative stain, designed to give a lime washed effect on hard wood species with a distinct graining (oak, chestnut, etc.) The White Patina bleaches and emphasises the graining by highlighting the wood graining (including non-brushed wood).
Blanchon White Patina is designed for all large surfaces: parquets, floors and stairs whilst being perfectly suited for furniture or wood panelling.
12m2 per litre per coat
Parquets, floors and stairs should be polished to the "raw" wood (it is not recommended to use coat removers and wax-removing agents), and then smoothened. The surface should be clean and devoid of all traces of detergents, grease, wax, polish, furniture polish or flax oil (or other specialist oils). Do not use detergents, bleaches or parquet-cleaning agents.
Use only in well ventilated areas.
Apply White Patina on the wood which has been previously stained with Wood Ageing Agent, Wood Stain or Grey Wood Reactive. For a proper wooden surface preparation before application of White Patina, be sure to clean it with a buffing machine with a white pad.
Best results can be achieved on surfaces coated with dark or grey wood stains due to the highlighted contrast with the bleached wood graining.
The White Patina preparation can be applied onto surfaces coated with Grey Wood Reactive in order to strengthen the effect of ageing wood and highlight the wood structure.
Begin by applying a thin and even layer using a brush or paint brush, always in the direction of the grain. Do not use a gun.
After drying, in an interval of 4 to a maximum of 12 hours, brush the surface with a buffing machine with a green or black pad until the desired effect is achieved. The corners and edges should be brushed manually with the central part of the pad. This method is perfect for small surfaces.
The dust should be very carefully removed before applying the selected finishing layer. A dust mask is recommended as the product is very likely to become a dust.
For the best end results, it is recommended to use water-based finishing products which will ensure that the wood will retain the brightest colour. The surface should be blocked with Prim’Oil Blanchon, then covered with Original Wood Environment. Alternatively apply S.O Primer followed by Intensiv.
