What Are The Hakwood Collections?

Hakwood pride themselves in being an innovative, Dutch producer of top quality wood flooring. As apart of Hakwoods engineered oak flooring range, there are a huge number of options available. Just some of the collections we have available include their Unfinished Flooring, the Old World Line, the Sierra Line and the Era line. So what sets each Hakwood collection apart?

The Hakwood unfinished range are completely flat engineered oak flooring boards. These boards are available in a number of different grades, ranging from the characterful Classical grade boards, to the cleaner Prime grade boards. These grades form as the basis for many of the prefinished collections. The great advantage of these unfinished boards is that you are free to finish the boards in with whatever finish you wish.

For those looking for something a little bit different, there are the prefinished collections.

Engineered Oak boards from the Old World collection all have been manually crafted to create an authentic, uneven effect. This collection is based on the look and feel of antique structural beams. The boards are aged and scraped by hand, leaving natural variations in both surface texture and tonality. This mimics the kind of floor you might expect to find in an old watermill or ruined French castle.

The Sierra collection is engineered oak flooring with a very distinct look. This collection draws inspiration from the linear sawmill marks left on wood planking. This creates a sawn surface texture. Depending on the colour chosen, the Sierra planks may be smoked, oiled or stained which gives each floor textural and visual depth.

The Era line combines classical and distressed surfaces, with natural oils. This creates an aged selection of products. All boards are produced through a combination of ageing, smoking, fuming and white oiling.

All of our Hakwood European engineered oak flooring is 20mm thick, consisting of a 6mm solid oak top layer which is fixed to 14mm of water resistant plywood. These are available in a number of different widths, and our usual long lengths. As with all of our engineered oak boards, these can be used in areas such as kitchen, bathrooms and conservatories. These boards can also be laid over an underfloor heating system.
