What Are The Advantages Of 14mm Solid Oak Flooring?

18th Oct 2013 @ 16:00

Here at Peak Oak we have oak flooring to suit every environment. For more traditional circumstances we have our 20mm solid oak flooring. To cope with ever changing conditions we have the 20mm engineered oak flooring. The final oak flooring we have available is the 14mm solid oak flooring, but what are the advantages of this type of oak board?

Like our 20mm oak flooring, the 14mm boards are all made from the same high quality European oak. These 14mm boards are supplied in a number of different widths and sold in long lengths. A number of different grades are also equally available, so whether you prefer the more rustic look of our Grange oak boards or the deeply striped brown oak of the Mansion boards, there is a grade for you.

The 14mm solid oak flooring is designed for situations where you are looking to replace a carpet which has been laid over a plywood sub-floor, yet lose as little room height as possible. Whilst these boards are 6mm thinner than our standard boards, they are thick enough to provide a stable flooring. The thinner cut of these boards allows us to get more boards out the same oak butt. This in turn means we can supply these boards at a lower price to you.
