Four years ago Dave and Margaret discovered a picture of an watermill located in Northumberland. The Thrum Mill had been abandoned for 50 years, until Dave and Margaret took it upon themselves to bring it back to life.

This led them to recently appearing on the Channel 4 show, The Restoration Man. The show sees the couple putting their hearts into the restoration, following their progress as they look to restore the old mill.

Although at the time of filming the floor was only just beginning to be laid, the job of supplying this floor fell to none other than Peak Oak. To match with the styling of the old mill, they decided to choose our Character Grade Solid Oak Flooring. As by far our most popular flooring, the character grade features a range of knots of varying size and colour variations. Full of these character, these boards were a great addition to the historic building, which Dave and Margaret now call home.
