Readers of our blog and website alike, will know doubt have noticed our love of the Hakwood products. For those who are not aware, Hakwood is a producer of engineered flooring, dating right back to 1903. But what makes Hakwood engineered oak flooring so special?

Like all of our oak flooring, the Hakwood range is highly stable and durable. Each board is made up of a 14mm of water resistant plywood back layer, which is connected to a 6mm solid oak top layer. This creates a highly durable product, which is built to last.

One of the features that really sets out Hakwood products from the rest is the sheer quality of each and every board. During production, the flooring is sorted and inspected at different stages; to ensure that each and every grade meets the required standard. This precision finish has proved to be a real hit during installation, taking a fraction of the time to fit compared to traditional engineered oak flooring.

The picture above shows a recent project at Henrwst Smithy, where the customer chose the Premier / 1-bis. This grade is for those who are looking for a clean, sleek, engineered oak board with the slightest bit of character.  Once laid, the floor was finished using two coats of the Osmo Polyx-Oil, which I think you will agree has left the floor looking fantastic.

Hakwood engineered oak flooring is not only great inside your home, it can also look equally as great in other environments. As Juicy Couture proved, the hard wearing yet beautiful nature of the Hakwood flooring can be perfect for inside a shop. For their recently opened Regent Street, London store, they chose to fit the Hakwood Basic from the Colour Collection. The boards have been laid in a classic herringbone pattern, to match perfectly with the buildings tradition.
