What Is Brown Oak Flooring?

16th Nov 2012 @ 17:49

Those of whom are looking for that extra bit of individuality from their oak flooring, need to look no further than Brown Oak Flooring.

These special Brown Oak boards are formed when a naturally occurring fungus, living inside the oak tree, causes a discolouration of the timber. Once this oak has been milled, it results in the oak floorboards being populated with deep coloured areas of grain. This results in a truly striking flooring which can look great in both contemporary and older family homes alike.

In terms of grade; our range of Manor House Brown Oak Flooring has a similar amount of knots and shakes to our character grade solid oak flooring ,with its occasional knots of varying size and colour variations.

Brown Oak Comparison

To help protect your brown oak flooring, yet keep its same natural look, we recommend finishing the laid boards with the Blanchon Wood Floor Oil Environment - Natural. This oil works by protecting the oak floor, without substantially changing its natural, unfinished colour.
