Have An Entrance You Can Be Proud Of

The entrance; the all important first impression. Your first chance to welcome people into your home and show them how proud you are of it. Therefore the ideal flooring for this area would need to look beautiful, something you can show off with pride and yet still be hard wearing enough to withstand all that excess traffic. Sounds just about impossible right? Luckily it isn’t thanks to the hard wearing, yet stylish nature of an engineered oak floor.

From above, engineered oak flooring looks just as great as a solid oak floor, harvesting the same intriguing and beautiful character that these boards can possess. The same traditional grades are also available; so whether you prefer your boards in a clean, near perfection state, like the Prime Grade, or full of large knots and cracks, like in the Barn Grade, than there is always a perfect board for you.

Engineered Oak Flooring

An entrance hall floor needs to be able to withstand day to day heavy traffic, something a engineered oak flooring can accomplish with ease. Naturally in an unfinished state, engineered oak can prove to be incredibly hard wearing, however to improve protection even further a hardwax oil, such as Blanchon Hard Waxoil, can be used. Blanchon products have been used to treat wooden floors at Seoul airport, which as you can imagine, will have an even higher footfall then your entrance! Any marks that do appear can be quickly and easily sanded away and the finished reapplied.

Dampness and changes in the atmosphere can often be a problem in the entrance, from the front door opening and closing, especially in the Winter. Unlike solid oak flooring, engineered oak flooring is much less affected by these changes, and is therefore able to handle all those wet, mucky shoes as they pass through your home. Muck and dirt can be quickly cleaned away with a damp mop.

A great engineered oak floor can be the perfect addition to your entrance hall making your home something to be proud of.
