Focus On: Oak Skirting & Architrave

26th Aug 2011 @ 15:25

When looking to complete your oak flooring, there is no better way than to finish it off than with some oak skirting. All of our oak skirting is manufactured using the same French and European oak that our flooring is. This means that by using our skirting, it will not look out of place against any of our oak floors and will really complete the look of the room.

Like our oak flooring however, our oak skirting comes in a number of different styles to give the customer more freedom in getting the look that they require. These styles include Arabesque, Bullnose, Ogee, Yorkshire and Belgian.

Arabesque

The Arabesque Solid Oak Skirting retains quite a simple design but is a piece that can prove very effective in the right area and act as the perfect way to finish off your oak flooring. (Available widths: 5 inch and 7 inch)

Bullnose

This skirting is the most simple of the designs, yet it proves to be one of the most popular. When looking for a skirting that is simple and is less prone to damage from cleaning, this is definitely the best option. (Available widths: 5 inch and 7 inch)

Ogee

As far as skirting boards go, this type is probably one of the most recognisable and used of them all. We sell more Ogee Solid Oak skirting then any of our other profiles as quite often customers are looking to match the skirting they already have in their homes. (Available width: 5 inch)

Yorkshire

Though quite similar to Ogee, Yorkshire Solid Oak Skirting can be classed as a bit more fancier with a less simplistic design. (Available widths: 5 inch and 7 inch)

Belgian

Although it appears more overstated than Bullnose skirting, the Belgian skirting is much less simpler than the likes of Ogee and Yorkshire. Belgian skirting proves perfect for those of whom are looking for something a little bit different but not something that is going to be completely “in your face”. (Available widths: 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch and 7 inch)

Solid Oak Skirting

All of our skirting styles come in lengths of 3000mm and are 19mm thick. To match our oak skirting, we also sell Architrave in the Bullnose, Ogee and Yorkshire style. All of these are available with the width at 3 inch’s, the length at 2200mm and a thickness of 19mm.

If you are under the impression that solid oak skirting boards can only be used when fitting a solid oak floor, then you may be surprised to hear that oak skirting also looks fantastic in rooms that have been carpeted and can really add some character into your home.

If you would like to find out more information regarding these skirting boards, why not call us on 01538 304584 where we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Skirting boards are a great example of a newer material that is now becoming a very common feature in many different homes.
