Here at Peak Oak we offer a number of different grades of oak flooring to suit all walks of life. Whether your looking for a grade that is full of knots and cracks, or a grade with no knots at all, there is always a grade for you. One such grade available is the Prime grade, but what exactly is Prime Grade Oak Flooring?

The prime grade is about the closest you can get to the perfection of quarter-sawn oak flooring - but is available at a third of the price. These boards are all taken from the centre the trunk. This means only a small number of prime grade oak boards can be produced from each tree - making them rarer then the likes of the barn and character grades.

Uniform in colour, these boards are free from any of the knots, shakes and burrs that you are likely to find in the other grades. They often also display the wonderful "hearting" that is found in quarter-sawn timber.

Prime grade boards are ideally suited to modern and contemporary areas, where the requirement is to have the floor looking beautiful without distracting the eye. For the sleek, minimalist look, you need look no further than the Prime grade boards.
