New Guide: How To Fit An Oak Floor

25th Mar 2013 @ 16:32

As a part of our ever expanding guides section of the site, we are pleased to announce the addition of yet another step by step guide. This new guide follows the process of one of our recent installations of an oak floor, giving you a number of helpful tips on How To Fit An Oak Floor.

Measuring the boards

In the creation of this guide we enlisted the help of one of our highly skilled floor fitters, who shares some of his helpful tip and tricks from his experience in the trade. In this particular floor fit, we have fitted the Hakwood European Oak - Bonneval engineered flooring over the top of an underfloor heating system. Here we have decided to fit the boards using the glueing method.

Throughout this guide we take you through the stages of preparing your sub-floor, finding the datum line, positioning the first board, allowing for any partition frames, scribing your oak flooring, positioning and cutting the boards and finally glueing the oak boards.
