Character grade flooring is always popular because it gives a perfect blend of minor knots, shakes and fissures with large areas of perfectly grained oak.
For those of you who can't lay solid oak flooring but want the look, character grade engineered oak flooring is the perfect solution.
Each board has a full width, 6mm veneer of solid European character grade oak, applied to a strong softwood ply backing board.
The oak veneer is unfinished and can be sanded, stained and waxed in exactly the same way as a solid oak board, but with the advantage that it can be laid over underfloor heating or glued to a sub-floor with less risk of movement/shrinkage.
We hand select all of the oak flooring we supply to ensure you get exactly the floor wanted and this includes all of our engineered oak flooring too!.
